The front end of this site is still in development, however the Video Maker section is up and running, as such you may:-
i) register as a Video Maker then set up your profile and start uploading your videos and setting prices
ii) subscribe to our news letter and
iii) suggest a Video that you would like to see here (see left).
Imagine a website packed with Video content that is useful!
Why would this site be different from the other video sites already out there?
Because the producers of these video can charge for access to their productions. This could be anything upwards from a few cents. What video sites have been missing so far is the fact that there is often little motivation for people with special knowledge or skill to share it via internet video.
With the option to charge for this video and thus cover their costs of production and make some extra cash as well this factor has now been eliminated.
I know there are great sites out there like MySpace and YouTube that do a great job of providing Video that is mostly entertainment based but VideoCage will be more about Videos that teach, train, educate or just inform. Such Videos could be:-
1) How to Paint
2) A tour of Thailand's lesser known islands
3) How to change an oil filter on a 1999 Ford Explorer
4) What problems to look out for when buying a used boat.

Naturally we welcome entertainment only videos as well and VideoCage hopes to become a great source of Movie Shorts from aspiring Directors that will be drawn here by VideoCage's facility to sell access to their Movies for a small fee and maybe help finance bigger projects.

The purpose of this site is to provide the means for anyone with a video camera the opportunity to produce a short video about absolutely anything useful, educational or simply entertaining and get paid for it!
The internet in general but more particularly sites like Ebay have made entrepreneurs out of 1000’s of people. Videocage offers the same opportunity but with a “work once get paid forever” solution.
Once your profile and video are set up you can simply sit back enjoy your new residual income!
Naturally you can work as much as you like to promote your videos but we expect to generate most of your sales directly from site browsers.
You can also use the site to distribute your videos for free, this is very useful if you are selling something, promoting your services/product or providing a free sample of your "paid" videos. There will be a fee for providing this services but it will be very low and based on the size of your video file multiplied by the number of downloads.
If you would like to provide your video for free but to a “restricted audience” you can do this as well by distributing a special access code to your friends, family or customers.
At the moment the site is in pre-launch mode but as a video maker you can set up your profile. We will then keep you up to date as new site elements are added.
To help protect your copyright we will distribute your video in a protective manner. This means that when a site visitor watches your video no copy is transferred to their hard drive for them to save and redistribute later. Using a regular media player your copyright is massively compromised. You can upload your videos as .flv, .mpeg4, .wmv or .avi files.
Payments for your sales will be made via paypal (so you will need a paypal account) less a commission.
This site will use a rating system for video watchers to have their say about your productions. Being a pioneer video maker will be important for your long term success as watchers will be more likely to select the videos with a higher rating (or any rating at all) rather than a video with no rating at all. Because of this, those video makers who get the first ratings will have a head start on everyone else.
The site has a no adult material policy.
